Invest in our children & families PDF Print E-mail

hbc icons serveBack-to-school time is quickly approaching along with a new ministry year for AWANA, MOPS, Discovery Town and our nurseries.   Many volunteers are needed to meet the needs of the families and children who participate.  Time committments vary.  Consider the following oppotunities:

AWANA:  guiding children from age 3-grade 6 as they memorize Scripture and participate in Wednesday night club activities from Sept.-May.  Current needs include small group leaders especially for Sparks (K-grade 2) and T&T (grades 3-6) and administrative helpers who can keep records, take attendance and oversee our club bookstore.  Contact Greg Livingston.

Discovery Town: leading small group instruction each Sunday, 9:45-11 am.  Lesson guides are provided.  Leaders are needed for the 2nd/3rd and 5th/6th grade groups.  Contact Pastor Jeff.

MOPPETS:  providing loving care for infants, preschoolers and home school children while their mothers participate in MOPS/MomsNext activities on 1st & 3rd Thursdays, 9:30-11:30 am beginning Sept. 6.  Snowbirds are welcome to serve when they are in the area. Contact Gretchen Benson.

Nursery:  providing loving care for infants and toddlers while their parents worship and grow in services and classes.  Our rotating schedule allows volunteers to serve one Sunday every 3-4 weeks during either the 8:45 or 11 am worship services or during the 10 am Christian Education hour.  Contact Leah Watkins.

A Big Step Forward PDF Print E-mail

vision2020 hillcrest logo small webVision 20/20 is a 2-year "season of vision" that will align our hearts, ministries and facilities with 5 Gospel Realities.  The first reality is: We have been sent to the nations."  The second is: "The reality of heaven and hell."  This is a game-changer and demands our passionate response.  We will develop a deeper culture of evangelism where each man, woman and child is prepared and equipped to share their faith and lead others to Jesus.  We will pray for the Holy Spirit to open doors to share with those in our sphere of influence, recognizing the strategic role each of us plays in spreading the incredible message of hope of eternal life in Jesus Chrsit.  Check back next week for the 3rd reality.
