Hillcrest Christian Pre-School

What do Pumpkins, Firetrucks, and Applesauce have in common?  They are all words that describe the busy Autumn happenings at Hillcrest Christian Preschool!  Three year old classes were enthralled with the big fire truck that visited the school on October 6th and 7th.  The Jamestown Fire Department brought the truck, complete with blaring sirens and flashing lights, provided the children with an opportunity to tour and “drive” the truck, and empowered them with fire safety information in observance of National Fire Safety Week.

Pre-K classes were in awe of the firemen sliding down the pole at their tour of the fire station.  They were given the opportunity to try on some equipment, tour an ambulance, and catch a glimpse of the lives of the heroes that man the station.  Seeing the JFD’s newest ladder truck was the icing on the cake.

Other autumn activities have included a trip out to McChesney’s pumpkin farm, where children played in the corn maze, learned about gourds, and were able to pick out a pumpkin to take home.

Upcoming events include a trip to the Audubon Society, applesauce making in the classroom, and the annual Halloween parades and parties!
